Shaykh Dr. Moiz Hasan

Dr. Moiz hasan received his M.A. and Ph.D. in the History and Philosophy of Science as a Presidential Fellow from the University of Notre Dame (USA). Schooled at Karachi Grammar School, he earlier completed his B.Sc. (Honors) summa cum laude from LUMS majoring in Mathematics, and undertook post-graduate studies in Islamic philosophy and sciences at the McGill University.

Shaykh Moiz studied the rigorous eight-year curriculum of the the traditional Islamic sciences under scholars (ulema) in Pakistan, receiving the ‘alimiyya degree from the Wifaq ul Madaris al-Arabiyya Pakistan. He has authorization to teach hadith from renowned scholars in Pakistan including the honorable Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani.

He has lectured extensively on topics relating to the Islamic scholarly tradition, Science, Religion, and Philosophy at various conferences and universities across the US, Canada and Pakistan. Together with his wife, he has also established Maryam Institute, an educational institute for women which offers free on-site programs in Karachi and free online courses for women around the world.

Mufti Muhammad Hisham

Mufti Muhammad Hisham completed his Alimiyyah and Takhassus fil Dawah from the renowned Darul Uloom Karachi under the tutelage of Mufti Taqi Usmani. He then pursued his Takhassus in Islamic Jurisprudence from Jamia al-Qur’an wa al-Sunnah and is currently pursuing his MPhil in Islamic Studies. He resides in Karachi, Pakistan with his family and children. 

Mufti Abdur Rahman

Mufti Abdur Rahman completed his Alimiyyah and Takhassus fil Ifta from the renowned Darul Uloom Karachi. He currently teaches advanced texts in Hadith at Maryam Institute. 

Mufti Muhammad Adil

Mufti Muhammad Adil completed his Alimiyyah and Takhassus fil Ifta from the renowned Darul Uloom Karachi. He currently teaches intermediate and advanced level Hadith and Jurisprudence at Maryam Institute. 

Alimah Sobia Hasan

Alimah Sobia Hasan was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan and received her B.Sc. with Honors in Economics and Social Sciences from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). Thereafter, she taught Islamic Studies and worked as a research assistant, before moving to the U.S. where she undertook workshops on teacher training and educational leadership at the Kaneb Center for Teaching and Learning.

During the course of studies, she was inspired to seek sacred knowledge which took her to attend Mahad al-Khalil, one of Pakistan’s most renowned Islamic institutes. There she completed a four-year, formal study in Qur’an, Hadith, Arabic Grammar & Linguistics, Islamic Law & Legal Theory and Beliefs & Creed. She studied the authentic ahadith collection of the Sihah Sittah under eminent Islamic scholars, including the late Maulana Yahya Madani (rah). In 2009, she was formally awarded the ‘alimiyyah degree certifying her to teach the disciplines of Islamic learning.

Alimah Sobia has been teaching classes in various Islamic disciplines for the past 13 years. She has delivered lectures and conducted seminars on Islam at educational institutions, conferences and masajid across the U.S., Canada and Pakistan. Moreover, she has tutored and guided hundreds of women on the path of drawing closer to Allah SWT.

Alimah Sobia and her husband have also founded Maryam Institute, an educational institute for women dedicated to offering free, online and in-person authentic Islamic education. Based on her dual background in research and Islam, and her experience as a community mentor, she has designed several short courses offering Islamic knowledge on contemporary and lifestyle issues pertinent to women, and taught them to a wide audience at different venues. Her latest endeavors include her popular “Being Productive” training course on effective self-management in Islam, and “Love to Stay” workshop on healthy, romantic and meaningful marriage.

She divides her time between the U.S. and Pakistan, and regularly travels with her husband to deliver interactive and uplifting talks to women from all walks of life.

Alimah Dr. Saba Noreen

A hafiza of the Quran, Dr. Saba completed her MBBS from DOW Medical College and her MCPS in Pediatrics from Indus Hospital. She has worked at renowned hospitals in Karachi including South City Hospital and Indus Hospital. She completed the Alimiyya Degree from Maryam Institute in 2019 and currently teaches Tafsir and advanced courses on Islamic Law at Maryam Institute. 

Alimah Dr. Wara Zainab

Dr. Wara Zainab completed her MBBS from DOW Medical College and is currently pursuing her residency in Internal Medicine. She completed her Alimiyya Degree from Maryam Institute in 2020 and is currently teaching Tafsir and Islamic Law at Maryam Institute.

Alimah Dr. Kulsoom Amin

Dr. Kulsoom Amin completed her MBBS from DOW Medical College and is currently working as a resident in Family Medicine. She completed her Alimiyya Degree from Maryam Institute in 2020 and is currently teaching Arabic Morphology and Inheritance Laws at Maryam Institute. 

Alimah Aliyah Gohar

Aliyah Gohar completed her BSc. in Health Management from DOW Medical College and is currently pursuing her MBA in Health Management from IOBM. She completed her Alimiyyah Degree from Maryam Institute in 2020 and is currently teaching Tafsir at Maryam Institute. 

Alimah Dr. Fatima Bilal

A hafiza of the Quran, Dr. Fatima Bilal completed her MBBS from DOW Medical College. She completed her Alimiyyah Degree from Maryam Institute in 2020 and is currently teaching Tajweed and Tafseer at Maryam Institute.
