ISLAMIC LEARNING COURSE (ILC)

One Year Certificate Course

The ILC is a unique one year, learning-centered program designed to develop a deeper understanding of the Qur’an and to reflect upon the comprehensive and profound wisdom contained in the Sunnah. It is specifically tailor-made for working/professional women and students who would like to advance their Islamic learning as a way to both grow in their Islamic knowledge and deepen their faith, but who are unable to commit to a full-time study of the classical Islamic disciplines. The program consists of specialized classes, dedicated to an in-depth study of the Qur’an, hadith, essentials of fiqh and the science of spiritual purification – all taught in a manner that is intellectually stimulating, spiritually uplifting and particularly sensitive to contemporary times.

The program also serves as a foundation for anyone who wishes to further her study of the classical Islamic disciplines.

Days: Every Friday

Time: 3 PM – 5:30 PM

1. Qur’an
In-depth commentary of selections of the Qur’an, focusing on practical lessons for daily life.

2. Hadith

Selections of short, powerful and authentic hadith, offering comprehensive guidance pertaining to our beliefs, actions, character and spirituality

3. Spirituality

Range of topics pertaining to purification of the heart and disciplining of the soul

4. Fiqh

Essential Fiqh of Taharah, Salah, Saum and Zakah
